Firefox Development Plugins

  1. Firebug - puts a wealth of web development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page.
  2. Page Speed - is an open-source Firefox/Firebug Add-on. Webmasters and web developers can use Page Speed to evaluate the performance of their web pages and to get suggestions on how to improve them.
  3. HttpFox (Download) -monitors and analyzes all incoming and outgoing HTTP traffic between the browser and the web servers.
  4. Read It Later - The Read It Later Firefox extension allows you to save pages of interest to read later. It eliminates cluttering of bookmarks with sites that are merely of a one-time interest.
  5. Tamper Data - is an extension to track and modify http/https requests.
  6. YSlow - analyzes web pages and suggests ways to improve their performance based on a set of rules for high performance web pages.
  7. User Agent Switcher - extension adds a menu and a toolbar button to switch the user agent of the browser.
  8. Page Speed - extension to evaluate the performance of their web pages and to get suggestions on how to improve them.
  9. lori (Life of request info) - can tell you how long it takes to load
    a page. Useful for web developers who are working on profiling, optimizing a web site.
  10. JSONView - extension that helps you view JSON documents in the browser.
  11. Html Validator - is a Mozilla extension that adds HTML validation inside Firefox and Mozilla. The number of errors of a HTML page is seen on the form of an icon in the status bar when browsing. The details of the errors are seen when looking the HTML source of the page.
